Cap Paciotti is synonymous with Alexandria Athletics. For years, he served as an assistant coach, but is best known for his broadcasting career. From 1949 to 1985, he broadcast high school sports and was referred to as the “Voice of the Alexandria Cardinals.” Cap continued his involvement in Cardinal football by being the public address announcer at all the home games.
Cap was instrumental in establishing the Foundation, and embraced its motto that athletics helps mold today's students into tomorrow's leaders. After his passing in 2003, the annual golf tournament was named in his memory and honorees were chosen based on their commitment to the principles and values that Cap supported.
