Ronald “Dommer” Domschot

Year Honored: 2021 Class

Ronald “Dommer” Domschot was born on August 29, 1944, in Little Falls, Minnesota

His family moved to Hutchinson and he graduated in 1962 where he excelled in both football and track

He then furthered his education at Mankato State where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degree in History and Political Science

He first taught and coached in Alma, Wisconsin and then spent two years in Redwood Falls before moving his family to Alexandria in 1974

During his time in Alexandria he impacted thousands of students and athletes.  Here is a short list of his major accomplishments:

-Social Studies teacher, track and field coach, and football coach for 27 years.

-2 time teacher of the year

-Butch Nash award for the outstanding Assistant Football Coach in the state

-State Assistant track coach of the year

-Weight training coach and instrumental in the efforts to upgrade the weight room facility

-Coached numerous state qualifiers and champions in track and field and a state football championship team in 1974

“Dommer” will be most remembered for being a transformative coach and teacher.  An educator focused on relationships and being an advocate for all students and athletes.

-Husband to Glee, father to Shelly (class of 1986) and Mark (1990).  Grandfather to Matt and Dylan Michaud and Tanner, Travis, and Talia Domschot

-He passed away on February 9, 2015 at the age of 70
